Creative PR and content agency PLAY has marked its first anniversary with two retainer wins.
Hoo, the hotel booking site where the customer can bid for the best price on their room, has brought in PLAY to run a full press office, packed with explosive and bold creative activations following one of the toughest years on record for the industry.
PLAY will lead Hoo’s launch strategy for summer 2021 with a mix of media relations and vibrant storytelling.
Adrian Murdock, Founder of Hoo said: “We’ve seen what PLAY have done for other brands in the last 12 months, and we are really excited to see what they can do for ours.”
PLAY has also been appointed by ZYN to promote its tobacco-free pouches range and drive cut-through in a fast-growing UK market.
Following a competitive pitch, PLAY has been charged with delivering a vibrant press office programme, as ZYN strives to educate the UK on these products, which are a cultural mainstay for Swedish nationals.
PLAY Founder Rowan Adams said:
“Both of these companies share a synergy – they are kicking the established status quo up the arse. We will be speaking to wired-in savvy consumers who respond to fun and functional brands who offer genuine solutions.”
“These wins are the cherry on the cake following a hard-fought year. Building relationships, trust, and a tasty client list through Brady Bunch style video calls has aged us all. I am very much ready to pick up the tab on the mightiest of Slug & Lettuce happy hours for the team who have soared above the challenges.”
PLAY has also internally promoted two staff. Leigh-Anne Leonce takes on the role of Account Director leading the team on strategy, whilst Emily Trant becomes a Campaign Lead, driving PLAY’s creative excellence programme.
Adams commented on the promotions: “We had no hesitation in bumping these Huns up the ladder; they’ve been instrumental in the success of our first year. We’ll be hiring for their replacements in due course.”
The Hoo and ZYN accounts will be lead by Adams and Leonce.
